Join us on 22 October at 13:00 BST to explore the results from The State of Global Air Quality Funding 2026. Air pollution remains one of the world’s largest public health challenges, causing almost 8 million premature deaths each year and imposing economic losses equivalent to 6% of GDP. This year has also seen millions of people exposed to hazardous smoke from wildfires, underlining the growing need to address air pollution as a public health priority.
The report shows that the latest funding picture is mixed. While there are some positive signs for air quality funding, the challenge will come with maintaining progress in a world of shrinking aid budgets.
The webinar will share the report’s findings, including this year’s deep-dive on Southeast Asia, and a reflection on air quality trends over the past five years.
The webinar will examine:
- The overall gap in air quality funding and consider the regional disparities in access to that funding
- What the latest funding trends tell us about progress on clean air
- The different levers for accelerating progress on clean air at country, regional and international level
- The role of inter-governmental forums such as the G20
The sessions will be divided into three parts. The Clean Air Fund team will first present the report’s key findings and insights. This will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the remaining gaps in air quality funding, the role of bilateral and multilateral donors, and perspectives from recipient countries. The session will conclude with a Q&A, offering participants an opportunity to engage with the speakers.
