The project engages networks of current and future health professionals to talk about the health impacts of air pollution, to prevent illness among vulnernable populations.

This Breathe Cities project aims to raise public awareness about air pollution exposure and its health impacts in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area by leveraging radio, television, billboards, and social media to disseminate information to the city's residents.

This project’s goal is to review existing local bye-laws, engaging local government leadership and communities for incorporation of air pollution parameters in bye-laws. This will enhance enforcement capabilities of the local assemblies in Accra.

This project will undertake a national investment case to reduce ambient air pollution and improve health in Ghana. UNDP is in a unique position to undertake these analyses, as a trusted partner working alongside governments to collect new data and guidance on air pollution and health, and their impacts to poverty, inequalities, and exclusion. 

The project goal is to develop municipality specific air quality action plans based on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regional level air quality management plans for the 15 assemblies in the Breathe Accra project.
