The project promotes reduced use of high-emission vehicles in urban areas, primarily through evidence-based recommendations (car inspections, Low Emission Zones, transport hubs) to national and local decision-makers.

Polish Smog Alert supports implementation of effective air protection measures, with a primary focus on accelerating improvements in household heating in Poland. The organisation provides expertise, capacity building and awareness raising efforts for national, regional and local authorities, as well as civil society.

World Athletics plans to leverage marathon events to help engage local communities, recreational runners and city governments on the topic of air quality in Lagos, Nigeria and Warsaw, Poland. Air quality monitoring and engagement campaigns in the lead up and during city marathon events will be used to catalyse raised awareness and city commitment.

To raise awareness of health impacts of air pollution among doctors to become powerful spokespeople raising the awareness and providing solutions to patients, the public and policy makers. This project will create a medical student network to support them as they go onto careers.

To gather data on air pollution in the surrounding of 5 selected schools and kindergartens in the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland. Also to raise awareness as to the impacts of the air pollution on children; prepare anti-smog plans together with engaged communities, encourage local authorities to enact these plans and engage business to help local authorities in it.

To help build guidance and establish a process for developing LEZ in Poland and to create an enabling environment at the local level, for example through the provision of expert support to local officials and decision-makers throughout LEZ development and implementation.

To help Polish cities prepare and implement air quality plans to fully comply with EU air quality Directives and to significantly reduce the number of most polluting boilers.

This project aims at providing clear and solid evidence on the co-benefits for acting on air quality and climate, promoting policy measures that consider multiple benefits of different technologies, techniques and behavioural changes.
